Students and Rabbis: In a communication that conforms to this pattern and there is no special school for the training of the rabbis. The students in the yeshiva do not study in order to become rabbis, in obedience to the yeshivas ideal of the studying the Torah “for its own sake.” He has actually become a rabbi only when appointed by a community to serve as such. The rabbi is also a “layman” occupying no the sacerdotal role. It is the consequently quite the erroneous, as is the often done by the non Jews to describe the rabbi as a Jewish priest.
